Acupuncture

Acupuncture is one of the safest medical treatments across conventional and alternative therapies. It’s even suitable for babies and pregnant women. Cassandra uses industry gold-standard needles for the best experience.

The science: Thousands of clinical trials have shown acupuncture is effective for depression, chronic pain, osteoarthritis, headaches, migraine, weight loss, inflammation, cancer-related fatigue (Tan et al., 2021), menopausal symptoms (Cagnacci et al., 2021), and much more.

Herbal Medicine

Plants have long been known for their healing properties. But when your health is compromised, there’s no room for guesswork, and herbal tea just won’t cut it. In the UK, only licenced practitioners can offer Chinese traditional herbal medicine, meaning you can truly trust the herbs you are prescribed.

The science: Chinese herbal medicine has been proven effective for type 2 diabetes. It has anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties and supports a healthy gut microbiome (Guo-Ming et al., 2019).

Acupressure

Sometimes called “acupuncture without the needles,” acupressure uses massage on specific meridian points to treat pain and other disorders. Acupressure can be used in conjunction with acupuncture for transformative results.

The science: Research demonstrates acupressure improves sleep, helping you get to sleep faster and stay asleep longer (Waits et al., 2016).

Cupping

Cupping is an ancient form of therapy using cups to create a vacuum that dilates the blood vessels. It’s believed to remove toxins from the body and promote healing.

The science: Cupping has proven benefits in pain-related diseases (Zhang et al., 2017).

Moxibustion

A form of heat therapy using dried plant materials called moxa, which are burned near the surface of the skin, above specific acu-points on the body.

The science: Studies have shown moxibustion is effective for conditions as varied as insomnia (Sun et al., 2016) and birth difficulties (Liao et al., 2021).

Tuina

Pronounced “twee-nah” this form of massage is similar to Shiatsu and is considered to be the oldest system of bodywork in the world.

The science: Currently under-studied but considered as a potential treatment in psychological disorders, ADHD, pain and gastric problems.

STEP ONE

You’ll complete a detailed health profile, answering questions about your medical history and current symptoms. Cassandra will use Chinese medicine diagnostic methods to assess your health. She will listen to your concerns and monitor your results. She will then create a strategy for your own personalised health plan, designed to best assist your body’s natural ability to heal itself. You will book an initial one-hour consultation, online or in person.

STEP TWO

Your treatment plan of acupuncture and/or Chinese herbal medicine prescription begins. You will have a clear roadmap for tackling current symptoms and reducing future health risks. Cassandra tracks your progress to ensure you achieve and exceed your health goals. Depending on your starting point, this process usually involves a six-week treatment plan with weekly acupuncture sessions. For Chinese herbal medicine, you will also attend a 30-minute check in session once a week for a minimum of six weeks.

STEP THREE

You will receive a downloadable copy of Cassandra’s ebook, Re+Cultivate 6-Week Program Guide. It’s full of information about Chinese medicine, Yang Sheng practices and recipes for optimal nutrition and healing. You can return to this guide as often as you need, to help maintain balance and wellness throughout your life.
